17th century German binding in natural pigskin, over wooden boards, almost full blind-tooled. On the central panel of the upper cover is Polish coat of arms ‘Prawda’ and letters A H P S C (A[damus] H[ieronymus] P[arys], S[tarosta] C[erscensis] = Adam Hieronim Parys), gold tooled, surrounded by a border of smaller rectangular images: Christ (with caption: DATA EST MICHI OM), King David (DE FRVCTV VENTRI), St Paul (APPARVIT BENIGNI), St John the Baptist (ECCE ANGNUS [sic] DEI). On the lower cover the same frame; the inner rectangle panel divided into two stripes, with the outer frame. Inside these stripes oval medallions with heads alternating and tablets inscribed (illegible).
