Inscription on title-page, in a 16th-century hand: "Sum Roberti Layngei presbr[...]" (possibly the place "Presbury"; or "presbyteri"; there is a Robert Lange recorded in the Clergy of the Church of England database as Rector of Kentisbury, 1565-70; and another recorded in Venn, matriculated sizar, Trinity College Cambridge, 1579, with approximate lifespan 1561-1659).
